Book on the day Appointments
There will be a few appointments available each day, which are released throughout the day by the reception staff. These are not available to be booked before the day. So if you ring from 8.00am or come to the surgery in person before 8.00am, you will have to wait for these appointments to be released. This does not guarantee you will receive an appointment for that day.
How To See A Doctor / Nurse
Main Surgery (Welling)
- Open Monday to Friday 7.00am to 6.30pm
- Consultations are by appointment only.
Branch Surgery (New Eltham)
- Open Monday to Thursday 7.00am to 6.30pm
- Friday 8.00am to 6.30pm
- Consultations are by appointment only.
You can also book telephone consultations with a doctor.
Our receptions staff are there to help you access the appropriate service. You may be asked by the receptionist to give a brief description of your problem before you can speak to the doctor.
Patients with more urgent problems can be seen on the day and patients are encouraged to call as soon after 8.00am as possible for an appointment or speak to the Duty Doctor. Genuine emergencies are seen urgently.
Really Urgent Problems
Really urgent problems will always be seen or dealt with urgently, which sometimes means advising patients to attend A&E (casualty).
We usually cannot, for example diagnose or rule out fractures without the benefit of X-rays and the treatment of severe chest pain is better managed in hospital.
Booking Appointments
Both surgeries allow patients to pre-book routine appointments up to 2 weeks in advance with all doctors within the practice to allow greater accessibility to your chosen doctor. However for Emergency and urgent appointments you may have to see the duty Doctor on the day.
Surgery Access
Appointments are available to book up to 2 weeks in advance Monday to Friday 8.00am to 11.00am and 2.00pm to 5.00pm. Some appointments are book on the day but are in high demand and get booked quickly.
We can arrange on the day urgent telephone advice from the doctor on duty, to which do get booked quickly. If the doctor deems it necessary for you to be seen, this will be arranged with them.
Please try to use the Surgery rather than attending Hospitals. Every A&E attendance costs on average £100. Please only use A&E if necessary.
